REMEMBERING FRIENDS

Have you ever wondered, why people drift apart? When we were kids, we had our childhood best friend, someone who we shared giggles with and watched the stars at night and wonder what the great beyond would be. A friend, that is the closest we would call a sister or a brother, that despite all our tantrums they would still be there and cheer you up.

But, as we grow up and are ushered into a new phase of development we get involved with new people, and eventually we call someone else our friend... these news friends become part of who we become and what we start to be.

Then, as we get older and our dreams start to be clearer, again, we part ways and enter a new phase of our lives and again meet new people, whom we call again our friends. The extent of the bond of friends we meet when we are off to prepare for our future careers, are somewhat strong but competitive. The time wherein we realize the meaning of Trust and True Friendship.

Somehow, in the course of time as we prepare ourselves to enter the jungle of life we try to search the people who we believe were part of us. As we try to rekindle that bond, we find that somehow our friends in our teens are somewhat different, sophisticated maybe, but still, we hope that the person remains  the same regardless of the new packaging.

Some friendships are lost forever, others are refocused, while some, no matter how much you would like them to stay, you  know in your heart that you have to let go.

In retrospect, friends are there for a purpose, to make you stronger, to share your dreams and aspirations and to teach you to be better.

Time may never be brought back but memories of happy moments shared are always there, and despite the distance and the silence, in our hearts we never really left.
